This is a free activity which will take place over the summer in different locations, with different artists, and hosted by APAA Member Bev Bradshaw. You can invite a guest, but there is a fee of $10 per guest or non-member.
A link will be sent out to all members several days prior to the actual plein air day with the date and time. There are currently 5 sessions planned with the possibility of additional dates depending on interest.
This is NOT a demo. It is more like a PAINT OUT. The artist will be spotlighting a location which he or she will be painting and everyone who links in will be able to paint the scene also. The artist is NOT acting as either a teacher or mentor to your painting. The artist will be mostly off to the side of the screen giving you the widest view of the scene for your own painting efforts. You will be able to converse with the artist while painting.
The zoom session will only be up for about 30-45 minutes, so it is recommended that the artists at home, use the time to do smaller compositional notans, color studies, or something similar. Be ready prior to the zoom session.
A jpeg photo of the scene will be sent to you if you are participating during a particular zoom session. If you are not zooming on that day, no photo will be sent. You must be there to receive a follow up image. You can also take screen shots of your own.
Your completed painting jpeg images should be sent to sharon.frey@gmail.com for placement on the website and will be highlighted in our September Meeting. Everyone who participates in 4 or more sessions will be eligible to be in a drawing for prizes.
