WATCH FOR INFORMATION ON FUTURE WORKSHOPS

In response to many members’ requests for workshops, I am thrilled to announce Tony Allain’s upcoming three-day workshop, “Breaking Free:  Mood and Atmosphere.”  The workshop will be held at the AAG building on Monday, March 24 through Wednesday, March 26.  APAA members will have “first dibs” on the workshop from September 1st through the 30th, and after that, the workshop will be open to non-members.

In the workshop, Tony will share some of his working methods, concentrating on painting a selection of different subjects that are filled with color and light.  Over the three days, you will explore the effect of direct strokes on a textured surface to emphasize “brushwork.”  Tony will also teach you how to simplify your approach to achieve exciting impressionistic paintings from your sketches and reference photos.  Each day will start with a demo with lots of challenges and individual help at the easel.

Tony is a wonderful presenter and his workshops quickly fill, so if you’re interested, please register for the event online starting September 1st.  You can find out more about Tony and the workshop on his website at www.tonyallainfineart.com.
